INTERVIEW - HOWARD FORD - INDIE HORROR DIRECTOR - THE LOCKDOWN HAUNTINGS

A salute to everyone reading this interview. The interview I post today I made it last year in December, different situations made me publish it today, I said this because today's interviewee is HOWARD FORD and we talked about his movie THE LOCKDOWN HAUNTINGS, it was his latest movie by that time, but he released a few days ago his new latest movie THE LEDGE. The movie was released on October, 2021 on VOD format and on DVD format on November, 2021.

As I said this interview focuses on THE LOCKDOWN HAUNTINGS, a clever British movie crafted during the Covid Pandemic and thought as a reinvention by HOWARD FORD side, A proficient and artistic mind always is thinking about how to adapt himself to current situations and his mind bounced around the idea to shoot while all people were isolated and fearful due the pandemic conjuncture back then, it flourished his cleverness and decided shooting a movie taking advantage everyone had to stay back home, that's how was born THE LOCKDOWN HAUNTINGS, a movie that incorporates everything that independent filmmaker means, cause HOWARD FORD was director, cinematographer, cameraman, gaffer, everything. Because of that and much more, be able to have the possibility of having his words on this blog and reach it out to many indie filmmakers out there is truly priceless

We talked about his filmography, 8 feature films, more than 250 commercials, and 7 short films so far, what numbers ah! I know you'll like it a lot, come on indie filmmakers, just have to scroll down and read this plenty of valuable advice interview for you, come on!

I am talking about EVAN SPILIOTOPOULOS. The movie is an adaptation from the novel SHRINE by  James Herbert, but revolves around a hearing-impaired girl who after being "touched" by the holy spirit of Virgin Marie gets able to hear, as the  supposed myracle is spreading more and more, the girl gains congregation who flock to observe the miracles, but behind that miracle something evil is hiding. And I highlight the word "Unwittingly" because that's how things happened, as Evan told us and you will be about to read, He took the director baton out to direct this movie at last minute after seeing that his dream to see one of his favorite novel in a feature film adaption by him could fly away, he said, "ok, I'll direct the movie then". A not minor fact is that the movie was produced by SAM RAIMI.

The movie was released last year on April 2 theatrically, Digital formats on May 25 and through DVD and BLURAY on June 25, by Scream Gems and Sony Pictures, major leagues, ah. I truly appreciate when directors, cinematographer or any person allow me to take some of their free time out to answer my questions, that's why I will be for ever grateful with Evan, I can only imagine how tight can be his schedule and letting me talk to him and share his words with the newbie indie filmmakers that read this blog, figuratively is pure gold.

As always we talk about the background of the movie, how he got involved, his major setbacks, how he overcome them, his sensations during the making of this movie, his thoughts, advice in overall. So, you newbie, indie filmmaker, come on! Scroll down and read this blow mind interview.

INTERVIEW - AARON FJELLMAN - INDIE HORROR FILMMAKER - CAGED

A salute to everyone reading this interview. Grew up in the suburbs of Los Angeles, got a sweet candy taste from Horror movies when he was just a boy roaming around in the local video store, he wanted to shoot a high-level budgeted indie horror film first, but the stumbings lead him out to his feature film directorial debut and word-worthy film: "CAGED". "CAGED" is the story of a man who is wrongly convicted for the murder of his wife, locked in his cell he must fight against his inner demons and a prison guard unchaining delusional passes in his mind. You can check out the note HERE.

We had a well-worthy chat about the in and outs to try to shoot his first feature film, why he decides to shoot it in certain particular  style, the whys, those little bit goldy details about why a filmmaker does what he does on his movie, That information my friends is bread freshly baked, there are filmmakers that are reserved about giving extra details, just the enough, but there are others that draw you the entire landscape, one of them is AARON. Widely he exposed to us why made this movie, with this particular plot, with this particular mood, how he was blessed to have that amazing cast and crew, the handicaps found during all the stages to create a movie, I mean, you have gold at your disposal, is up to you to take it.
